ERROR: Invalid Column Header: Picture 6

ERROR: Invalid Column Header: Picture 6

Postby N-5Gunner » Mon Feb 04, 2019 8:45 am

Hi there everyone. I recently stumbled upon an error I haven't experienced before, and have not been able to resolve it. I have been setting up an excel file for a Flashcards deck in which I am often using many sides of the flashcard for one question. I have column headers from "Text 1" up to "Text 7" in cells A1 through G1, and then "Picture 1" up to "Picture 7" in cells H1 through N1.

When I tried to add the deck for the first time in the Flashcards Deluxe app, I encountered the error: "Invalid column header: Picture 6". I have triple checked that all of my column headers do not have any extra spaces, are spelled correctly, and so on. I am wondering if perhaps the number of Picture columns are limited to 5 or less?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
N-5Gunner

Hi N-5Gunner,

Yes, there's a limit of 5 pictures. The app can only support up to 5 sided flashcards. You can have up to 9 "Text" items, but since there's only 5 sides to a flashcard, you'll need to use a custom "Card Layout" to map Text 6+ to one of the 5 viewable sides. But there's no option to include more than 5 pictures. Sorry.

It might be possible to include multiple pictures on a side though, by entering HTML into a "Text" column (instead of the Picture columns). If you are interested in trying this, let me know and I'll provide more details.

How can I have a custom header (e.g. Plural), for a column I don't want shown in the app on the phone, but that I want in the Excel file?
Thanks. Manuel

Hi Manuel,

Use column header "Ignore"
