How to learn only one category

Sorry, I don't get it. How can I learn only one category. I organized my decks that every unit is another category (category 1).

Therefore I

1. set the status to all the cards to Exclude.
2. select the unit I want to learn and set the status to Active and check the correct amout with the filter.
3. press Cards to Study.

Now I want to study the unit I have selected but there are still all the words in the study-mode.

What do I miss or misunderstand?

First, put all cards back to "Active". You don't need to use the Exclude status for this.
To filter on a category, from the study screen, tap the gear in the top-right to view Deck Options.
Tap "Cards to Study", then "Category 1". Check any categories you want to study. You can't double-tap to clear/set all.

This APP is so brilliant. The kids love to study their words with this APP. Even French what is not their favorite language
