Multiple Columns On Same Side in Excel

I am creating simple two sided cards in Excel.
On one side, I need multiple columns of words.
In a single Excel cell, using a monospaced font, I created three columns of words, using spaces to force the columns to line up correctely. Two colors are used in each word, but I assume this is irrelevant to my problem.
In the following illustration, periods stand for spaces.
--------------------------------------
tom....dennis.harry
dennis.harry..tom
harry..tom....dennis
--------------------------------
Loaded into Flash Cards, every instance of multiple spaces is collapese to a single space.
Is there a way to fix this?
Or alternatively, using Excel, how do I create multiple columns of words on one side of a deck of cards?
Thank you!

As html is used, there is no easy way to add spaces.

will add one additional space
Otherwise you need to create a table which is a lot of effort.

Meine liebe Katja,
Danke schon!!
Ich habe einen ganzen Tag damit verbracht und es nicht geschafft, das herauszufinden. Ich kenne kein HTML.
Herzlichen Dank!!

For anyone interested, the solution is simple enough:
In an Excel cell, using a monospace font, enter the columns using PERIODS for the spaces you need to line up your columns of words correctly. Then Find & Replace each "." with " " (Which I assume means "non-breaking space")
If you use a monospaced font (eg. Menlo, Courier New) in Flashcard Deluxe, you get neat columns of words.
Once again, thank you, Katja.

Hi Dennis,
Give this a try to see if it works for you...
.. = exactly TWO spaces
<list>
tom..dennis..harry
dennis..harry..tom
harry..tom..dennis
The "<list>" tag is custom for Flashcards Deluxe. The app will convert the above into a table. You might need to shrink font size to make it look better.

Sorry, I was not aware of that. That makes some of my cards much easier to maintain.
@Ernie, do you mind to add this to "formatting text" on
http://orangeorapple.com/Flashcards/Default.aspx and in the in-app help at "List, tables and outlines" with the same example.

Hi Katja,
Thanks for the suggestion. I added the following text to the website's main page, Formatting Text section:
"If you are creating lists (bulleted, numbered) or tables (with columns), search the in-app help for "Lists, Tables and Outlines" for more details."
I haven't updated the German version of the website yet, but I'll get a translation later.
I have a similar example already in the in-app help, under the "Tables" section in that help page. One possible confusing part is that I don't repeat the required <list> tag at top, which maybe I should to make it more clear.
