Hi Ernie,
today I finished day 1000 working with the app. It is by far the most important app in my daily routines learning Portuguese as a new language. And it is worth all the time I had to spend feeding the database, learning the words and phrases on a daily bases and continue refining the vocabulary.
I also like to share some statistics and like to invite others to share their experiences in this thread.

Total number of entries: 4.800 (one entry includes normally more than 1 word or phrases)
Average repetitions/day: 47
Average time/day: 13 min
Average of new words per day: 3 (depends on your personal settings and available time)
Average percentage of correct answers: 85%
Average percentage regarding intervals: < 3 months: 498, < 6 months: 626, > 6 months: 2248, still 1100 entries in status "new/pending"

For me the concept of this app works really well, definitely improves my skills and keeps me going every single day!

Thanks a lot!

Hi Ernie
I've been using FCD for almost a year now. Thanks a lot for creating and maintaining it! I use the cards to capture and memorize concepts that we are tought at university. By creating the cards I force myself to grasp the essence of the lectures that I attend. Later, just before the exam, I use the cards to refresh the concepts in my memory. It's great that one can include pictures through Google Drive very easily. I usually add screenshots of our lecturer's power point slides.
Happy holidays!!
Andreas

Hello,

Im an english learner. With this app, I have memorised a total dictionary (longman active dictionary) ALL words in it. (14K). Then I continued with Toefl, GRE, GMAT vocabulary and with some most difficult words in english. I reached to a 21K words now. And very comfortable with english vocab. With this app as an english learner, I am no more an english learner, I GOD DAMN LEARNED IT!

Thanks Ernie!

Turgut

Been using app for months and I am really happy with it. I am trying to learn Spanish as my family is planing to buy real estate in Spain here and we should be moving to this country by the end of the year. Plus I never thought that there are 20 countries in the world who's main language is Spanish.

Almost a year with flashcards! Many thanks for that from me too, Ernie! I love the app, it's so simple to manage vocabulary sets and everything. I love that black mode (battery saving, no distraction).
I have a few suggestions to make:

I. custom behavior when starting the app.
I guess not only I have a routine of what I like to do when I start the app -- nevertheless I have to tell it every time I start:
a) start,
b) select vocabulary set
c) tap info screen
d) confirm that I want to learn those cards that are due.
For me, that's 3 unnecessary steps, because
-> b) I always learn with the same set (only when there are only non-due cards I switch to one(!) other set.
-> c) I almost never study the info screen
-> d) yes, I want to learn the due cards ...
It would be nice, if there could be a way to have this happen automatically.

II. Help with the statistics
I'll write you an email.
thanks very much again,

hoddnho.

Hi hoddnho,

I can look into an option to auto-open the last deck studied. This might be a nice feature.
I like always having the intro screen show.
If you only have "due" cards (no "new" cards), then it should not ask for confirmation. If you have both "due" and "new", then the app needs to ask.
