HI. Sorry for the slow response.

When you start a new round (of 20 cards), the app will go through your cards "in order" (starting with first card in deck) looking for cards already with a "new" status. Once the max # of new cards are found, it stops looking for more. So I believe the answer is that it doesn't necessarily replace or wait, it will grab the first "new" cards found at the top of the deck.

Behaviour after manual status change

Here's the situation: I have a deck that I'm working with, and it has currently the maximum number of cards set to the status NEW (set to 20 by me). There are also a lot of PENDING cards, and I wish to 'promote' one or more of these because I need to learn them now, so I set 5 (or even 10, or more) PENDING cards manually to NEW. What will happen now? Will the Flashcards app wait until there's room for NEW cards (in this case, since there can't be more than 20, these manually set cards won't appear immediately as NEW cards, correct?)? Or does the app replace cards that are currently NEW and set them back to PENDING, in order to make room?
Thank you
