Great, I'm glad you figured it out. Thanks for letting me know the solution. I forgot about this possible scenario.

Thank you for the reply, Ernie. I found out what I was doing wrong.
I was modifying an already-generated .xlsx that was made by the app. Consequently, the metadata at the top had a "media-dir" set to an directory. I deleted all the metadata and it worked fine.

I'm not sure.
Verify that below looks like what you are doing

\Dropbox\Apps\Flashcards Deluxetest.xlsx
test Media\ (I expect a capital "M", but shouldn't make a difference)
test Media\cementoblastoma1.jpg

In your Excel file, you have a header "Picture 2"
In this column you have "cementoblastoma1.jpg" (for one of your cards)

First off, thank you making such a great program. I'm utilizing it to study for pathology.
I have a quick question regarding importing an .xlsx I've made on my desktop.
I have taken jpg screenshots and inserted them in "picture2" and placed them in a "test media" folder on dropbox.
When I try and import the test.xlsx deck from dropbox, it gives me this error regarding the pictures:

Retry media?

Not all media files were downloaded successfully. Retry?
Failed: 4
etc etc.

I'm using the Windows 10 snipping tool to take screenshots and save them as .jpg

Please advise as to what I could be doing wrong.

Thank you!
