| Ernie | Steve, if all you have is two columns of text (question and answer), you can upload to Quizlet. Export from within my app to your email (Edit, deck, Export, email; exclude statistics) and you'll get a two column listing that you upload to Quizlet using their bulk upload option. A complication will arise if you have line feeds in your text within a card... my app will use a | character to denote a new line, but Quizlet won't understand this. There might be a way to upload to Quizlet including new lines in cards, but not sure. If you have pictures or sounds, then that makes things tough. As far as other Droid apps, I assume you're fine if you get them into Quizlet, but they may other ways to import a simple tab delimited text file (or CSV file, which you can make using Excel). Quizlet will probably support uploading from my app around the end of this summer. Let me know if you need info on this. | 6/28/2011 |

| Ernie | AlexNiko, I agree, I need to add option to set delay for each deck individually. I'll try to get that in fairly soon. 2) TTS: I know it's going to have a hard time when french words are mixed in with English words. I can't make it smart where it knows what language each word/card is... you need to set a language for a side for the whole deck. This is a limitation, so you'll get bad results for non-English words mixed in. As for Russian and French, I'll try to add more languages in the next update. The problem is that these other languages will come from a Microsoft service and will probably sound pretty bad. The languages I currently have sound great, but these are the only languages offered with my current purchased product. | 6/27/2011 |

1. Availability slideshow - what I really was looking for. But the sets of cards are very different (the number of words on one card) - a set of delays is only common to all sets. Maybe it would be interesting to use for each set individually: the rate (as the multiplier - default 1), the regime of "smart" delay - as a factor which depends on the number of words displayed on one side of the card.
2. TTS would like for the Russian language and French language. There is a problem - when downloading sounds to your set of cards "Countries, Flags, Locations", the sounds are loaded, but the export takes place a few mistakes of file names (for example, cards Cote d'Ivoire). | 6/27/2011 |

| Ernie | Zephyr, I'm not sure about increasing the 150 limit for TTS. It's an arbitrary limit to keep processing down and speed up, with my thinking that someone probably doesn't want to repeatedly listen to 300 characters spoken when reviewing flashcards, but I certainly could be wrong. Wrt TTS, this is amazing, and worked flawlessly even with uncommon abbreviations. Is the current 150 character limit permanent? | Ernie | Norbert, the TTS is running on a different server, so that's not it. But nothing else has changed recently that I can think of. I've looked through logs trying to find the problem, but don't see it. No, they can't tell me what page is the problem. In one example, my process went over the 5 minute average CPU limit (according to them) and shut down, and I had no http log entries for 4 minutes before that. So the only thing I can think of is there's some out-of-control code that keeps on running, but there is no pattern I can see. Or... something is going wrong on their end. After I switch hosting companies I can measure the new up-time and see if I still have the same problem. This will pass, but it's an unfortunate distraction. Thanks. | 6/26/2011 |

| Ernie | Norbert, oh, I took the BB down because I didn't know if that was causing my server problems. I was trying to troubleshoot. Taking it down didn't solve my problems, but I kept it down in case having it up would just make the situation worse. People are complaining (and rightfully so) that they can't upload cards. The BB is low priority compared to the transfering of flashcards. This old forum sucks compared to that fancy phpBB, huh? :) | 6/25/2011 |
| Ernie | Norbert, thanks for the help! Oh man, I've got a bit of a server problem. It's been going down 15 times a day for 1-3 minutes at a time and it's really frustrating. My hosting company says that I'm using too much CPU, but I don't see how. I'm moving to a new hosting company and will probably switch over Monday night. (It didn't help that I left on vacation a day after these server problems started. I get back home Monday night.) Hopefully after I switch over, everything will be working smoothly and a couple days after that I will get my old BB back up. I expect all BB data to stay intact. | 6/25/2011 |

| Andrea | First of all, this is a great app. So much so that I will continue to use it on my defunct iPhone because I haven't found anything comparable on the Android Market for my new smart phone.
With respect to your response levels ("Wrong," "I kind of know," and "I know really well"), I can foresee myself choosing "I kind of know" for 100s if not 1000s of my flash cards. As a result, there may be no way to differentiate among them or prioritize the order and or frequency at which they are shown other than moving the card at next presentation to the "I know really well" category. I know certain flash card programs that have 4-6 response levels. Would you consider expanding the number of response levels you have for Flashcards Deluxe? | 6/25/2011 |

I want to have both 'Text 1' and 'Text 2' on the same side (side 1). I do not want to define which text is on 'Card Top' and which one is on 'Card Bottom'. I want them to appear randomly either on top or on the bottom of the card. I want to make a multiple choice test. Is it possible to do this?

The format is the same if you are using my website to upload, and I should have some instructions for this at the top of my website. As for saving text file, I assume you are not using my website and will import as a text file directly. In TextEdit, change to plain text mode, and you'll get the UTF8 option. The default mode is rich text mode. I'm away from my computer now so do have the exact menu command, but take a look. Sorry for the confusion. Let me know if you still have problems. | 6/22/2011 |

| aht117 | I'm using textedit in Mac OS 10.6.7. There is no option to save UNICODE or UTF8 in this application as per your instructions, below. Also, you don't say how to format the cards e.g. does a carriage return separate the front and back of the card?
1) If your text uses special characters (like for Greek or Asian languages), then you’ll need to save your text with either UTF8 or Unicode encoding. Both Notepad (PC) and TextEdit (Mac) have these options when saving. | 6/22/2011 |

| QdM | Ernie, I put them all properly in my "Flashcards Deluxe" folder. But I can't put the files in public due to possible legal reason. When I tried another deck with thousands mp3 files, there was no problem. Anyway, if FD doesn't have such a limitation, I'll try Google Docs instead.

| Ernie | E. Watson: The main screen shows "Decks" at the top and lists your decks. If you are in the study screen, tap the top-left corner to return to this Decks screen. At the top right you should see a + sign and "Edit". Tap "+". If you don't see it for whatever reason, remove the app from memory and restart the app. The remove an app from memory, double-click your home button (at bottom) and you'll see apps along the bottom show up. Hold one down and they will shake and you'll see a red minus sign. Tap to remove from memory. Careful though, this is different than deleting an app. | 6/20/2011 |
